Sean really likes juice. And I don’t blame him. Sometimes the juicer can be a bit of work though, and I feel lazy when it comes to pulling it out. Typically, I talk descriptively and hypothetically about juice long enough that Sean just eventually gets out the juicer himself and make us some. Oh the power of suggestion. But after a great weekend with Sean, who supported me, my broken car and my mental health unconditionally, I wanted to do something for him. So on Sunday afternoon I brought the old boy out and made us some delightful afternoon drinks. It really wasn’t that bad, but don’t tell him that!

Included in each jar of juice? One large carrot, two and a half oranges and four strawberries.
Knowing we would be locked indoors due to illness and bad weather, I brought the juicer along to work. It seemed a little crazy at seven in the morning when I toted it out the door, but when the kids woke up from nap with a bad case of spring fever, it was JUST the ticket! What? Most toddlers don’t use a juicer? Huh.
After explaining that we weren’t just going to pour the juice from the bottle like we normally do, we scoured the kitchen for their favorite fruits. We found oranges, clementines, pears, and grapes. The twins helped peel the clementines and put them in a bowl while I peeled and diced the pears & prepped the rest of the fruit. Then, we fired the beast up, which brought lots of giggles and threw all the fruit in.
After we made all the different kids of juice, we tasted them and mixed them. In the end, we discovered that no matter how you mix it, you can’t go wrong. What are your favorite kinds of juice?
Sometime ago Sean purchased this juicer. We love it- very much. Some people have animals and children– we have plants and a juicer. Typically Sean makes the juice for us. But last week, he wasn’t home and I wasn’t feeling particularly well, so I decided to break it out and try my hand at this juicing business. Dragging myself to the store down the road, I loaded my bag with as many fruits with high levels of Vitamin C as I could afford. Then home again, home again, jiggity-jig.
For this immune system kicker drink I used one grapefruit, two oranges and a mango. And within an hour of drinking it, I was feeling some light years better! No medications needed–thanks Mother Nature!
