High on the success of our tomato plants, I decided to start a spice garden in our kitchen. Down to the farmers market I went, armed with ideas and spending money– always a great combination! Once I got there, I decided to start small. After talking to the farmer behind the booth, I went for three of my most used spices: oregano, basil and sage. I was assured that these three spices would be well suited for the temperature and sunlight that our apartment offers. The little dashes of life and green in our kitchen make me very happy. I’m excited to start harvesting them once they take off. Pesto anyone? I’ve also been scouring Pinterest for some cute DIY flower pot ideas. It’s been awhile since I’ve done an original DIY project and I’m itching to start crafting again… as soon as the sun goes down, of course. Michigan summers should be spent outside, not in!
